After much planning and preparation, today we begin releasing Neko Mix Genkitan Toraji. This is the most LSD project I’ve ever come across. I worked on it at my old group Storm in Heaven, and have been wanting to do it since we opened here… and now that we have a few more staffers, and the wonderfully reliable Cpt. Mischief is on board to edit, I feel good about starting. This is a long series — 11 volumes, ongoing — by Tamura Yumi, who is well known for her epics Basara and 7 Seeds. To anyone new to the series, the first chapters are episodic and bizarre, but if you put any weight on my opinion, please read through at least chapter 3 where the plot hits. The series is quite dear to me — an utterly bizarre fantasy world of talking animals and malicious mice, with light-hearted antics by the cat mix Toraji. And at its core, a heartbreaking overarching plot line. Give it a shot, and I hope you enjoy!

We are releasing our own version of chapter 7 for translation consistency (and well, we have nicer raws), so I recommend everyone nab it. Neko Mix chapters are a hefty 60 pages each, and we hope to release one a month.

Cats, fantasy and LSD? Clearly the best formula you could hope for! I’m not really a fan of Tamura Yumi (dropped both Basara and 7 Seeds within a couple of volumes, but then again long-running josei romance and I have never gotten along), but that’s not going to stop me!

Thank you so very much for picking up a work by Tamura Yumi! I adore all her manga I have read so far and her character building is one of my most favourite ones. Not to mention the combination of fantasy, cats and the LSD team is something worth looking forward to!
