Music and spacetime
We have something rather different for you today: part one of the classic sci-fi work Gin no Sankaku, by Hagio Moto. Hagio Moto is well known among all classic manga fans, and is one of the artists credited with pioneering modern shoujo manga — in particular for introducing gay and transgender themes and for her use of sci-fi elements. Gin no Sankaku ran in a sci-fi magazine (rather than a manga magazine) and could be equally considered josei or seinen — basically, it has broad appeal for hard-core sci-fi fans of all types. The story is considerably out there, non-linear and looping. It’s best read in one sitting, then promptly re-read to catch all the things that you didn’t quite get the first time around.
This project was translated by Alicia, who posted the text translation on her blog ages ago. Our QCer hahhah42 brought it to my attention, and we’ve been waiting for an interested editor to show up ever since (huggles to Cpt. Mischief). To anyone who enjoys this manga, drop by brickme.tumblr.com to say thanks to Alicia for the trans! (Per her request, please do not upload this scanlation to any online readers aside from Batoto.)
We’re hoping to finish up this manga over the next two weeks 🙂
Gin no Sankaku c01 [DL]
Ultrabaroque Deprogrammer v04 c35 [DL] <– also, this!
Working on Gin made me itch to do more sci-fi (um, I love sci-fi), so I spent an inordinate amount of time attempting to find any and all sci-fi series that are LSD-able. Made a nice list, and from it we have two new upcoming oneshot collections. You might see a bit more sci-fi around here as I dip into that list from time to time <3
Ratakia no Majo (Kasabe Tetsu): strange seinen oneshots
Sekai no Aikotoba wa Mizu (Andou Ikori): lovely strange seinen oneshots
Thank you very much for the new release!

And thank you for UD, as always.
