Lost and Found
A much more meaty Shirube chapter. This kind of lovely, almost poetic narration is more like Konno Kita’s typical fare. It’s actually my favorite of the three Shirube chapters we’re doing!
Shirube no Michi c04 [DL]
Had a bit of extra time on my hands, so I went hunting for new stuff and found six new potential projects. Also! Two authors already on our potentials page have recently completed interesting new works that would totally fit at LSD. But, we’re more likely to do their previous works than these new ones, so I’m not going to spam the potentials page with them. And yet! Links to information to spread the word:
Yamashita Tomoko: White Note Pad > strange (dark?) body-swap psychological supernatural josei (complete @ 2 vols)
Takahashi Tsutomu: Zankyou > dark mature (NSFW!!) psychological bloody action-ish seinen (complete @ 3 vols)
And without further ado… our new potentials. Remember you can vote for any of these on our main potentials page š Hoshi no Annainin and Haru to Bonkura are the first works of their respective authors, while Kottou Nekoya is also by an unscanlated author. And no, you aren’t seeing things: there’s a rom-com in there. I almost started it last year, when I really needed some levity after a string of strange/dark things. Even I have anĀ emotional limit over typical LSD stuff š
(Previous Releases) | Ningyo no Ouji-sama (Kazumi Yuana) “Mermaid Prince” Strange seinen > 4 vols, gender bender fantasy romantic comedy Summary (from MU):Ā Once upon a time, there was a mermaidĀ who wanted to become human so she could fall in love. When her wish was granted, the lower half of her body turned to foam and she became a human… MALE!? This is the love story of a 30-year-old virgin man and a beautiful (male?) mermaid! |
(Download Sample) | Shiawase no Machi (Iwaoka Hisae) “Joyous Town” Lovely joseiĀ > 1 vol, supernatural slow romance/slice of life Summary:Ā The cafe owner Mikumo and general store shopkeeper Yano have their shops directly above and below each other in the same building. The two seem so close, but aren’t a couple — and their oh-so-frustrating “romance” is being silently witnessed by the most unlikely of beings. |
(Previous Releases) | Majo to Neko no Hanashi (Shinomiya Shino) “The Story of Witches and Cats” Lovely joseiĀ > 1 vol, fantasy slice of life Summary:Ā Seven stories of witches attending a school of magic who must summon their own guardian spirit and partner — a cat — when they turn 13 years old. |
(Download Sample) | Hoshi no Annainin (Uemura Isuzu) “Star Guide” Lovely seinenĀ > 4 vols, slice of life Summary:Ā An eccentric old man built a private planetarium. It’s a place where the shy boy Tokio can be at ease. But that once peaceful place has now been invaded by a careless novelist, a lively high school girl, and a popular transfer student…!? A gentle story of the cosmos and the people whose lives unfold on the stage of that planetarium. |
(Download Sample) | Kottou Nekoya (Takano Hisa) “Antique Cat Shop” Lovely joseiĀ > 1 vol, supernatural slice of life Summary:Ā A girl with a scarred heart stops by an antique shop. There she meets the talking cat Bonten and the shopkeeper… a slightly fantastical story of bonds between cat and man. |
(Download Sample) | Haru to Bonkura (Kumakura Kon) “Springtime and Idiocy” Lovely strange seinenĀ > 1 vol, psychological romantic oneshots Summary:Ā There’s someone I like, a girl at the store where I work. Plus everyone agrees that she’s a great girl. But then I found out that she has this crazy “mindscape”! A collection of four short stories. |
Thank you for the chapter!
As always, I see some nice picks here. Particularly Majo to Neko and Hoshi, though Kottou Nekoya might be nice as well (can you tell I’m a great cat-lover?) I had no idea White Note Pad existed. Strange, because I’m usually on the lookout for that kind of stuff, though since Yamashita Tomoko is generally a romance author I may have just ignored it subconsciously…
Yes, we have an alarming number of cat-based potentials >.>
Yamashita’s got a lot of more mature stuff out lately (as opposed to her more light-hearted early shoujo/BL). A lot of it dealing with themes I don’t like (abuse, etc). I honestly haven’t seen raws for White Note Pad… could go either way (stick to interesting drama, or go into mature themes).
I’m glad to hear that about Yamashita, really. I read a couple of her early works and saw potential there, so I’m glad she managed to break out of the endless loop of nonsensical fluff that is (most) shoujo and (most) BL and get into something more fitting for her writing skills. I’m personally quite fond of dark psychological series, though with the caveat that it not be meaningless cruelty/insanity. (A good example for which would be Nakamura Asumiko’s Double Mints; I thought it’d be better than your average yaoi, but it just turned out be creepier and more perverted and nothing more) I guess there’s that fine line between darkness with purpose and that without -_-
I’m dying to read Majo to Neko. And Kodama no Tani, actually. I’m a big fan of Irie Aki š I’d love to help if redrawer is needed!
Toss me an email at [email protected]! We’d love a good redrawer =D
