Kodama no Tani (Irie Aki) “Echo Valley” lovely seinen > 1 vol, school life, slice of life Summary: Irie Aki’s first serialization, a school life tale taking place in an elite European-style academy. The story focuses on a few of the seniors (royalty included) as they near graduation. Also includes Fuku-chan Tabi Mata Tabi, a series of 12 vignettes, each a brief look into the travels of the boy Fuku.

The young man Biryuu, who possesses the mysterious power to see spirits of the dead. The two meet, and this story “Muyung” begins. The setting is ancient China during a period of great turmoil. The king is slain while Biryuu is in command of the troops. Biryuu and his father Hobeku meet Kiku during their grieving. Hobeku compels Kiku to resurrect the king, and Kiku revives him. However, those who are resurrected… have no shadow. They are “other”, having the same appearance but a completely different personality…
