First of all, I’d like to welcome any first-timers drawn here by the seinen release. While all our starter projects were shoujo and josei, fully 2/3 of our potential future projects are seinen, so there will be much more in the future 😉 That said, I do recommend that you at least check out our completed projects Aoi Uroko and Shikou Shounen, as those two josei titles are non-romantic and have cross-gender appeal. (And are excellent.)

Now, onto the show! Believe it or not, I actually began scanlating Ultrabaroque Deprogrammer in 2009. I was quick to realize that I didn’t have the time to put out consistent releases back then, so I mothballed it without releasing a single chapter. But now that I’ve got this dedicated mini-group (and Ximena & Ren!!), I feel like we can finally do it justice.

Ultrabaroque Deprogrammer v01 c01-02 [c01 DL] [c02 DL]

This manga is a total trip. What it lacks in emotional depth (don’t look for feels here) it makes up for in style, insanity, and just being wickedly cool. And the art — the art is what sold me on it. Asada Torao has almost nothing scanlated, but absolutely breath-taking art. He tends to illustrate stories that other authors write, so his series are all over the place, but man. Please take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty of it. Then strap in for the ride 😉

You know, that line just increased my enthusiasm for this series tenfold (if that were even possible!)

But never mind my unpopular opinions: thanks for the chapters!

Oh no, cool/stylish things and feels don’t go together well. Whenever I’ve seen it tried, it tends to just seem over the top or cheesy.

I do love the feels, but this is a nice change of pace 🙂
