And it’s the end! …an end I doubt anyone expected. Romance fans will likely be disappointed as the author ended the series by flashing forward to two scenes in Futaba’s future and otherwise leaving it open to interpretation. Is it possible that PtC was cancelled and she had to scramble to finish it up? (Hah!) Looking at it from a slice-of-life perspective… I rather enjoyed Futaba’s trials and tribulations. And did she actually wind up with Akimoto? It’s somewhat ambiguous, but I’ll imagine that’s a yes 🙂

One last huggle to everyone who worked on it 🙂 This is also the last of our group “starter projects”, titles we’d brainstormed prior to opening LSD. With the exception of Aoi Uroko, all the projects we’ve done to date were driven by nostalgia — either to see the ending of a story, or for a favorite mangaka. Moving forward, we’ll be focusing more on discovering new authors. There will still be nostalgia works, but I’ve got a ridiculously large stack of unscanlated mangaka that I can’t wait to get started on =D

Speaking of which, I had some overly-ambitious plans of starting our next series before this finished, and releasing oodles of oneshots. It’s easy to get excited about all the cool things we could do and lose sight of how long it actually takes to get things done. We’re going to take a few weeks off to catch our breath, and then we’ll get started on our next series 🙂
