101815…Aoi Uroko is hands-down the best series we’ve done here so far, and one of the best manga I have ever read or worked on. It’s a gem, and I’m delighted I stumbled onto it. It revolves around Tokiko, an imaginative yet insecure young girl who winds up moving to a small town after her life falls apart. The story is about her search for a merman who once saved her life. It also has nothing to do with that at all, and is a very real, very raw account of a child rebuilding her life in a new place. For all its dark undertones, the manga is more about hope, and is full of the daily (happy) lives of the town children. It’s everything I love in a slice-of-life manga, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Make sure to read it, and if you’re prone to crying keep the tissues handy.

Aoi Uroko to Suna no Machi v01 c01 [DL @ Mega or MF]

Many thanks to kurenai & kuinni for tossing me the raws so I could fall in love with it. And as always, Ximena and Ianu for actually getting it done šŸ™‚

As for the usual recommendations, Komori Youko is relatively new and doesn’t have any other series scanlated, and so I’ll recommend another lovely (yet often bittersweet) slice-of-life manga about a girl and her father: My Girl by Sahara Mizu. And for anyone who wants something truly tragic, check out her shorter work Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan.

Ohhh, I really like the style of this one! The style is just somehow very lovely, but simple! I am already drawn in because of the art style!

Thank you for all the hard work <3

I’m glad you managed to start releasing Aoi Uroko a bit sooner than previously planned. From your glowing description, it looks like it even managed to exceed your expectations!

I’m really looking forward to it now.
