Silver Lining

In my opinion, this final Ariadone chapter could have stood alone as a short story. It captures young Chiyo’s struggle to perhaps an even more intense degree than the struggle of the main plot. That aside, how Chiyo and Nogami first met — and yet how Nogami remained a secret from Chiharu — is explored in a touching fashion. And with that, we’ve finished our first project! Our next project is Shikou Shounen, which is essentially a puzzle: each chapter is a stand-alone story which connects (some directly, some tangentially) to the other stories. Figuring out where they all fit together is the interesting part, and best undertaken when you’ve read the entire thing and have all the pieces at hand. Hopefully you’ll stick around for it! If you’d like an idea of the style, I’ve actually translated quite a few of the mangaka’s works, and I recommend you read Omae ga Sekai o Kowashitai nara. She also has multiple other works scanlated (mainly short story collections). If you haven’t discovered her yet, spend a weekend dipping into her unique stories — you won’t regret it.
